Some good finds

This Summer, there was no detecting because hard dry soil and most fields were occupied. As soon as the grain was harvested from my bestest field, I went there but the high stubble prevented me from living my best life with my Deus II. Went back after the stubble was ploughed, again to find near nothing. Sigh.
Third time: I went with my female buddy and it rained for one and a half hour whilst we were on the field. I was SO FED up and she also didn’t want to bring me home, so there went most of my motivation to detect ever again with her and/or in the rain :p I just like being independent, esp when I’m on a field that’s not giving. OR when the rain has reached my underwear.

All of September was pretty bad weather and it rained a lot, which makes the soil a bit better. Might be the case that we’ll be having dry and rain seasons i Western-Europe, as it seems to go like this in the last 4 yrs. Most fields have been planted again because this is how the goverment wants it .. the plants take out nitrogen or whatever from the soil. My best fields are unavaible again.

One field on the corner gave me the occasional good find. Keep finding the same square button with some scratched flower. This coin (photo) and maybe a piece of brooch of a rare time period to find stuff from. THe coin is in very good shape considering its age.. Most coins of 150 yrs old are rotten. This one is 400 yrs old ^^

The sword pommel is from the field that’s closest to my house. That field is said to be Roman but I never found anything old on it, or even worth mentioning. This pommel is the first good find actually.

I’m using some Sony headphones with cable now and I ordered a used WSA big headcups so at least the cable will be gone. Never used the big headphones of XP but since I had the WS5 of the old XP Deus, I kinda got the hint that it might actually enhance the hearing.
Using program 2 Sens with slight mods.. Because I modified my first deus II too much, I guess, and now I’m careful. THe fulltones and low disc gives the iron sound, and with the 3tones I will be digging more iron than anything else. So back to the high pitched fulltones again.. I hope to put my ws6 puck on the shaft so I can watch the ID again, just like the old times :p Just like to know what might be popping up before hand. Don’t know why..

DEUS II Some change in setup

went detecting with a penpal and only realized in the last 15 minutes that I only have one shaft for 2 Deuses.. luckily i still have the one shaft that I made from scratch. Did not let him use it lol

I have been using the Deus I since 2011, I think. THen I got a used Deus II which I didn’t like and got rid of. Bought the old Deus back (well several setups and kept what I wanted). Now some used parts came along and my Deus II Lite is now again my weapon of choice. It should be better, right ?
I think maybe the fulltones is confusing because you get a high tone for something that isn’t the highest conductor (like a musket ball). Must realize now that there are even HIGHER tones for higher conductors and they make my ears hurt..

Now I’m waiting for a used WSA XL headphones so I ‘m no longer bothered by the cable of the headphones (attached to adapter of WS6 pod).
The Deus II finds small stuff, and sometimes I’m surprised by depth, but also often I feel it’s not going very deep when most of my finds are within 10cm. But on the other hand: I’m coming from a year of bad results anyway. Deus I or Deus II. I still want a Deus II so I can detect the beach without cable issues.
Got lucky and found someone to buy my Minelab Sovereign GT for my price and he really wanted this one, so that went very well. Pity to get rid of the old classic machine with the nicest sound, but 450 euro is too much to sit around the house when I already have a beach machine in the Deus II. I also sold everything else, like an Equinox 600 with carbon rod that got exchanged for a Deus with a French unit. Itt’s all gone, except a Deus I with 28cm coil and 22cm white coil. Both have their ‘superficial’ ugliness so I won’t be able to sell them for a decent price. Maybe I’ll sell the unit or ws5 headphones just to get as much cash back in my wallet as possible. I just don’t know what to do with all the money except to put it into bitcoin, with all the recession that’s coming :p Got myself food for us and our animals already, it’s going to go bad probably.. Or we’ll need it and won’t have enough maybe.
